Nasi Lemak - Glenmarie

by - 3:08 AM

One of the most popular breakfasts in Malaysia amongst the multi-races is no other than Nasi Lemak. Nasi Lemak is basically, plain rice cooked in coconut milk ala ‘santan’, thus, enriching the rice with..cholesterol! But is delicious.

You can have a choice of plain white rice if you are concern of your diet?? Anyhow, there are many places, stalls by the road side especially in the morning selling nasi lemak which varies from stall to stall. As a consumer, one is spoilt for choices as additional ‘side dishes’ i.e. fried chicken, curry chicken, fried egg, etc. Or, just plain old nasi lemak with anchovies, quartered egg, few slices of cucumber and some roasted peanuts topped off with some sambal chili.

There are not many places to eat around my office; therefore, I was pleasantly surprised that there is one such delicious stall nearby. This stall is actually located across Petronas petrol station, which is parallel to the Federal Highway, after the first toll, passed Subang Parade. You can see that there is a statue of a BIG BEAR and you can see Petronas from there.

This stall is known as ‘Nasi Lemak Petronas’ as it is located near Petronas petrol station. It is open around 11ish till stock finishes. The usual crowd comes in the usual lunch break, and, there are not many tables or chairs, and the queue does get longer and longer. You get the whiff of nice fried chicken as you approach the stall, and there are choices of side dishes i.e. perfectly fried egg (see for yourself!), variety of vegetables, curry chicken, etc.

The specialty is the fried chicken, in my opinion, is not cheap, but seemed to be standard price for all nice yet delicious fried chicken, which is RM4-4.50 per piece. And the sambal is the ‘sweetish’ type as Muslims from east coast of Malaysia, especially in Kelantan, which seems to have sweet tooth. Oh yeah, and not too spicy for those who can’t take spicy food. So your meal may cost you around RM5 -6 per plate, and it depends on what you add on.

Dont think your GPS can track this place :)
